We thought you'd like to know that we've just published our 2018-22 National Portfolio applicant guidance. Below you can find out more about how we'll invest across our three main funding streams over this period - and the steps you need to take to apply.


What's new?
We've made some changes to our National Portfolio for 2018-22, including integrating arts, museums and libraries, introducing four funding categories and lengthening funding agreements.

Job Vacancy - Conductor of Herefordshire Youth Orchestra

Herefordshire Music Service has the rare and prestigious vacancy of Conductor of Herefordshire Youth Orchestra.

We are seeking a conductor who is able to enthuse and inspire some of the most musically talented young people in Herefordshire. Someone with drive, commitment and broad knowledge of orchestral repertoire.

HYO rehearse weekly on Tuesdays in Hereford from 5-7pm. They have two seasons, one from September to late November and the other from January to April/May. The new conductor would have the option of conducting/attending every week or having some as sectional rehearsals only. HYO currently performs twice a year (once at the end of each season). The new conductor will be able to shape and develop the orchestra, particularly in terms of performance opportunities.

The conductor would be supported at rehearsals by a peripatetic teacher from the music service. This position will also become vacant and the new conductor will have the opportunity to have an input into appointing their support tutor. The new conductor will be supported by a highly efficient and supportive back office and management system.
