Inspiring Futures Through the Arts

 

WAP’s April newsletter showcased ‘Inspiring Futures through the Arts’, our year long programme that brought arts activity to those at risk of offending or re-offending.  Just before we embark on year 2, we thought you’d like to see our final film of the year 1 project, created by Nicola Prestage of Tiger Features.  She had a lot of material to condense and tried to get as many service users as possible (all of whom signed consent forms) into the final cut.

We’re really pleased with this as a representation of the project.  Many of the service users on here have had some sort of follow up support provided to get into further activity or training.

Jump Start Event - Saturday 22nd July 2pm- 4pm

 

HI All

 

First of all some good news. We were successful to our bid to the Arts Council which means that the project will have two years of funding. We expect to have six showcases and four masterclasses in that time so please keep an eye out on regular updates on both the Worcestershire Arts Partnership and Jump Start  Facebook page as well as these updates.

 

Our next event is taking place at The Worcester Arts Workshop on Saturday 22^nd July. It will form part of Watch out Worcester which is an event run through Dancefest to promote Worcester through a series of predominately outdoor arts events. We thought it would be great to be part of this and thus our event will take place from 2pm – 4pm on that day. We are thus offering both an indoor and outdoor space for people to perform in as well.

 

Through the funding we can offer any prospective writers/performers a fee of up to £400 for each performance.

 

Each performance needs to be no more than 20 minutes with a minimum technical requirement. We know some actors but again if you have people that you know that is even better.

 

We will also have a Project Manager for the two years and we will announce this next week.

 

If you are interested in performing and have something you want to consider please let me know no later than 5pm on  Friday 3^rd June.

·         Your name

 

·         Name of play

 

·         Synopsise of piece or even better an email  copy  of it

 

·         Cast numbers  including ages and male/female ratio

 

 

We will not have more than 5 plays/performances at any event.

Meadow Arts - Call Out for Artists - 23rd May 2017 deadline

 

Meadow Arts deliver contemporary visual arts in unusual places across Herefordshire, Shropshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. Our education programme, called Meadow Arts Inspires, aims to work with all children and young people aged 5-25. You can find out more about our work at www.meadowarts.org

We are seeking creative practitioners with experience of working in the visual arts sector, who are available to deliver MA Inspires programmes in schools, colleges and universities across the region. We aim to create a database of creative practitioner contacts, who we can call upon as projects come in.

To apply please send up to:

-      500 words describing your practice, creative practitioner experience and why you would like to work with Meadow Arts, include information about DBS checks and a note about where you are based.

-      Arts Award experience (including Arts Award Adviser qualifications)

-      3 images of your work (200dpi) detailing medium and dimensions.
