Boys Dancing - National Lottery Award - Please Vote Today!

We are absolutely thrilled that the long running and energetic Boys Dancing project has reached the final of the National Lottery Awards 2014 – in the Best Arts Project category. Boys Dancing is a West Midlands project that the County Council and Dancefest have been part of. In March the Worcestershire element 'Our Brave Sons' was a fantastic moving piece of work.

With National Lottery Funding support, Boys Dancing has given over 2,000 boys and young men across the West Midlands the opportunity to prove that dance is definitely for them.  Led by our brilliant team of seasoned professional dancers, early career dance artists and dance apprentices the boys have choreographed, rehearsed and performed dozens of live dance pieces and dance films.

Everything they have done has been recorded and all the films and photos can be seen on the project website www.boysdancing.org together with stories from the boys, their teachers and parents and the brand new teacher development videos we have made to encourage teachers to create new opportunities for boys to take up and enjoy dance.
Voting is easy

The National Lottery Awards are an annual search to find the UK's favourite Lottery-funded projects.  The winners will receive a National Lottery Award trophy and a £2,000 cash prize.  Our aim is to make Boys Dancing a national project and that prize would help give even more boys the opportunity to dance!

Voting is open from 25th June to the 23rd July.  Please support us.

Calls cost 5p from a BT landline.  Calls from other networks may vary and calls from mobiles cost considerably more.
