Meet the Makers of Theatre

Fuel presents…

Meet the Makers

New Theatre in Your Neighbourhood, a home-from-home for theatre producers Fuel. Led by co-directors Louise Blackwell and Kate McGrath, Fuel are dedicated to bringing fresh experiences to adventurous people across the country. Work that makes people laugh and cry, and creates a playful relationship with its audiences, showing them something unexpected.

NTiYN was created to transform those relationships. It began as a research project into better touring and now in the second phase Fuel are collaborating with seven towns to which they tour work regularly to create work specifically for those communities.  Malvern Theatres will be hosting three Fuel shows this autumn: Fiction 14th Oct, This Last Tempest 4-5th Nov, Love Letters Straight From Your Heart 18-19th Nov.

As part of this work, we would like to invite you to an informal get-together to talk about theatre in Malvern and surrounding areas. Fuel want to meet people in the area who make and watch theatre, and find out more about what they are seeing, what they would like to see come to Malvern, what’s great about the local scene and what’s frustrating, and what difference Fuel might be able to make. Fuel will tell you more about our blog, and invite contributions, so people across the UK can find out more about what’s happening in your neighbourhood.

This meeting will be hosted by theatre-writer and blogger Maddy Costa. Maddy has written for the Guardian and Exeunt, and works on New Theatre in Your Neighbourhood with Fuel, hosting post-show discussions and blogging about the project. Maddy is a co-founder of Dialogue, an organisation that seeks to build new relationships between the people who make, watch and write about theatre.

Please meet us on Tuesday 7th October at 7.30pm at The Brewer's Arms, West Malvern WR14 4BQ
