Role
To assist with marketing of arts installation ‘Go To
Jail’ which is part of the Kidderminster Arts Festival.
This involves working on-site, and around Kidderminster Town
Hall for a limited number of days, promoting the installation and
encouraging members of the public to engage with the project. This
will be done in different ways; by handing out flyers and/or by engaging
passers-by in conversation around a table set up in the street, which holds
information about the project. Entrance to the project is free.
Members of the public will be encouraged to enter the building and then
enter the project.
The installation consists of a replica prison cell
which ‘houses’ two performers in-role as prisoners. Members of the public
can walk into the cell, meet with the ‘prisoners’ and discuss the
life of prison. Additionally, outside the cell is an interactive console
on which visitors can express their views about crime and justice issues.
Interactions in the cell are streamed live online.
The dates of the engagement are as follows; 8, 10, 11,
12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18 August, 10.45am - 3.15pm. You will also need to
attend a briefing session at the Town Hall on 7 August, time TBC
The fee payable is £40 per day. This will be paid as a
fee. The individual concerned will be responsible for their own tax and
N.I.
Interested applicants should write to admin@rideout.org.uk giving
information on their previous experience. Only individuals local to the
Kidderminster area should apply
