Festivals Symposium event - Friday 11 March, 10am-3pm at The Hive in the Studio
The morning session with include an
update on our commissions, Story Jams, and a chance to discuss the '1000 days'
and the relevance, implications and opportunities for the festivals sector in
the county, and the future direction of the subgroup.
We will break for lunch at 12.30pm.
The afternoon session will start at
1.15pm and we will have presentations from two visiting speakers, both
experienced arts festival organisers but from different parts of the sector.
One is Steve Heap, chair of the Association Of Festival Organisers who will
talk about his experience of running festivals and also share details of the opportunities
and support provided by AFO. The second speaker is tbc. We will follow this
with a future gazing session and talk about the next year, and what we might do
collaboratively, building on the conversations and presentations we have had at
our meetings over the last year, covering marketing and social media,
fundraising, commissioning new work, working with volunteers and measuring
economic impact.
I realise it is a long day so please
feel free to just come for the morning or the afternoon, or whatever you can
manage.
