Learning, Outreach & Volunteering Officer, 2 Year
Contract, 30 hrs per week
The Museum of Royal Worcester seeks to appoint a Learning
and Outreach Officer to be responsible for development and delivery of an
exciting and innovative Learning and Outreach Strategy. This includes
developing a comprehensive teaching resource for schools, colleges and adult
learners, developing community programmes and overseeing recruitment and
development of a committed team of volunteers. The successful candidate will
play a key role in the team responsible for delivering a £1.5 million
redevelopment project supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The project is a new start for the museum to reinforce its
position as a collection of National Importance.
The project
will refurbish the museum displays, re-interpret the collections and create a
stimulating environment where visitors can learn about the factory community,
the triumphs and pitfalls of manufacturing processes and the skills of
designers and craftsmen. It will provide opportunities for involvement and
learning and widen appeal drawing in local communities and more family
visitors.
A person with energy, enthusiasm and experience in this
field and ideally Heritage Lottery funded projects is sought to join the team.
