Vamos Theatre seeks an experienced
Marketing Manager
Worcestershire-based
Vamos Theatre, the UK’s leading full mask theatre company, is seeking a
Marketing Manager for maternity cover from November 2016 to August 2017.
The suitable
candidate must have at least 3 years’ Arts Marketing experience, with knowledge
of marketing small/medium scale shows to theatres, arts and community venues.
The Marketing Manager is responsible for planning and leading on all marketing
campaigns for the company’s national and international touring work, site-specific
walkabout theatre, Learning and Participation work and Special Commissions. The
suitable candidate will have experience of creating and working to budgets; developing
marketing, education- and audience-specific marketing materials that supports
the company’s ethos of being accessible to all; and maintaining and building relations
with national and local press, venues and outside partners. Working closely with
the Website Manager and Administrator, the Marketing Manager will oversee
social media campaigns, as well as having responsibility for marketing and
selling Learning and Participation work nationwide. An excellent telephone and
written manner is vital, and the role requires a highly organised and efficient
person who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work calmly under
pressure, and have exceptional computer skills relevant to the post.
Established
in 2006, Vamos Theatre tours to over seventy small to middle scale venues a
year throughout the UK and abroad. Vamos also provides walkabout theatre at
events and conferences, delivers an extensive workshop and education package,
and produces Special Commission projects. Since 2008, Vamos’s major productions
have been supported by grants from Arts Council England and Worcestershire
County Council.
Vamos Theatre
has a core team of eight, currently with three office-based staff, working
alongside a pool of associate practitioners. Vamos’s offices are at Worcester
Arts Workshop in central Worcester.
Personal
Specification
Essential:
- An ambitious individual with creative flair
and a passion for touring theatre
- Strong experience of planning and/or working
within existing marketing campaigns
- Minimum of three years’ professional experience
in an Arts Marketing environment
- Ability to prioritise multiple projects and be
flexible and adaptable
- Excellent copywriting skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
including Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong experience of digital marketing
including social media engagement
- A high level of self-motivation and the
ability to think creatively
- Comfortable liaising with the public, and the
arts and business communities
- Able to start in November 2016

August 2017 (this may be extended to three days a week, funding pending,
decision November 14th)
Training and crossover: 7th November – 25th November 2016
Payment: £26,000 pro rata

The post is a freelance
post and therefore is not eligible for holiday pay. The Marketing and
Development Manager is responsible for their own tax and National Insurance
contributions.
