KAF SMALL SCALE COMMISSIONS
Continuing our partnership with the Xpressions Leisure Grant
Scheme KAF now seeks proposals from Wyre Forest based artists who can
create a site specific work on the theme of ‘Music’. This theme is to
celebrate the beginning of the Kidderminster Music Heritage Trail, we are
exploring music in its broadest sense, what it’s like to be at a gig or
in a band, what is the essence of music, the inspiration for lyrics, back
stage experiences, tour vans, rock gods, how has it affected fashion,
politics and social movements, how has it affected you?
Artist should demonstrate through their proposal the link with the
theme and describe the context they would like to display their work; we
are particularly looking for outdoor work.
When will
it happen?
The KAF Small Scale Commissions Scheme will commission new works to be
shown at KAF 2016 between the 6th and the 27th of
August.
You must display your work for at least one day, though we encourage you
to display your work for longer, please give details of this in your
proposal. We would like as many people to be exposed or involved with it
as possible.
Budget
Applicants could be given a grant of £250 towards their costs on
completion of the work. You must give a detailed budget breakdown
of the costs you anticipate you will incur during the production and
installation of your work. If you project costs more than the grant you
must outline where the rest of the money will come from.
