Job Opportunity

Job Description
Local Engagement Specialist
(Freelance position)

Fuel is putting together a team of brilliant local engagement specialists to help with the delivery of our New Theatre in Your Neighbourhood initiative, which runs from January to June 2013.

The nationwide project will use shows Fuel is touring in spring 2013 to Colchester, Malvern, Preston, Poole and Stockton-on-Tees as a springboard for research with potential audiences, with venues, with artists and with the people who make the shows. Fuel is working with Malvern Theatres to deliver the project in Malvern .

New Theatre in Your Neighbourhood is a project that aims to get people excited about the theatre we make. We’d like them to come to our shows. We want to find out more about Malvern and the people that live there and in the long term create performances in their neighbourhoods.

Fuel is currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed local engagement specialist to help us achieve our aims in partnership with the Malvern Theatres.

We are presenting two shows at Malvern Theatres in the spring:

The Victorian in the Wall by Will Adamsdale
26 March

“An ingenious comedy... deliciously leftfield fare” Time Out on The Summer House

A work-shy writer discovers a Victorian man living in the wall of his flat. Everyone’s pretty surprised. Adjustments need to be made. A new play from Perrier Award winner Will Adamsdale (Jackson’s Way, The Summer House) and co-produced by the Royal Court in London. www.willadamsdale.com

Zero by Clod Ensemble
7 June

“Clod Ensemble is one of those innovative and anarchic companies thrusting its way through traditional boundaries of drama.”
The Guardian

Zero is set to an original score played live by a band of acclaimed musicians and featuring an explosive cast of performers.

Zero is a world where nothing is certain – where women can be tigers and men can be snakes. Families, marriages and friendships are laced with sibling rivalries, frustrated desires and murderous ambitions.
Heavens open and lives fall apart. Here, we are all at the mercy of the stormy weather. At least we can still sing the blues. www.clodensemble.com
