Turning Point West Midlands news - Artist Question and Answer Sessions

Posted: 19 Feb 2013 01:30 AM PST
We thought it might be a good idea for Turning Point West Midlands to hold informal and free Question and Answer sessions for artists based in the West Midlands every month, starting March 2013.
Where: The sessions will be held in the lecture room early evening, with TPWM's Director Wendy Law, at The School of Art, BIAD, Birmingham City University
When:
Wednesday 20 March 6-7pm
Wednesday 17 April 5-6.30pm
Wednesday 22 May 5-6.30pm
Wednesday 19 June 5-6.30pm
The sessions will complement Artist Development programmes in the region; they will be informal and they will deal with topics and questions raised by artists on the night. These might be about how to access specific information, about making an application, what to expect from a residency, the membership and networks that support artists etc.
The ethos will be one of sharing and exchange and attendees can propose topics for the following sessions. The sessions will also provide an opportunity to network and to look at the bigger picture as well as discuss the priorities for artists and the visual arts in the region.
There is no booking system, just come along on the night. The capacity of the room is 100. We don't expect to exceed 100 but if we do then we might have to limit numbers and introduce a booking system in the future.
We look forward to seeing you!
Wendy Law, Director of TPWM
