ASSET BASED APPROACH TO HEALTH AND WELLBEING IN COMMUNITIES

ASSET BASED APPROACH TO HEALTH AND WELLBEING IN COMMUNITIES
Sponsored by West Midlands Councils and WM Department of Health

5 November – 12.00 – 2.00

Clarendon Suite, Hagley Road, Birmingham, B16 9SB

This free event is open to all with an interest in learning more about an asset based approach to health and wellbeing in communities. An Asset Based Approach is very much about the collective resources which individuals and communities have at their disposal, which protect against negative health outcomes and promote health by raising the visibility and valuing the skills, knowledge, connections and potential in a community.

Trevor Hopkins will use real life examples to demonstrate
  • How to develop the JSNA to include mapping/assessment of community assets
  • How an Appreciative Inquiry approach can help to set and engage key stakeholders in developing or refining the H&WB Strategy
  • How an 'Outcomes Based Commissioning' approach works
Trevor will also use examples of local projects to demonstrate community approaches to local issues.
